The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is an inter-governmental organization that brings together all 28 countries of the European Union and 15 countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.

It does that with the aim of enhancing regional cooperation and dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region in order to collectively address three interrelated priorities: regional stability, human development, and integration.

Also, it was launched in July 2008.

However, comprising nearly 60 percent of the total population, young people constitute one of the greatest assets for stability and development in the Euro-Mediterranean region and play a significant role in energizing growth, poverty reduction, and societal well-being.

  • Be a youth-led organization/platform/network active principally in one of the 43 UfM Member States.
  • Have open and ongoing activities and/or projects in one of the three areas tackled by the Forum
  • Have background knowledge and experience in international youth work and regional cooperation projects;
  • Possess background knowledge and experience in terms of Euro-Mediterranean policies and of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligible organizations should nominate 2 to 3 representatives on the basis of the following eligibility and selection criteria, to be fulfilled by the deadline for applications:

World Youth Forum Selection Procedure

The selection of participating organizations and their representatives will be carried out by a selection committee comprising members of the UfM Secretariat, the City Council of Tarragona, the University Rovira Virgili, and the pedagogical team of the Forum.

WYF is a platform by youth for youth to discuss different topics that occupy the world today and will shape the future. It is open to all youth of all nations between the ages of 18-40 years old. Youth that is influential in their communities and areas of studies are also encouraged to apply as speakers as well.
